Seth Pistols

Does anyone think that K2 Seth Pistols would be overkill for an east coast powder and crud ski?

Yes.

I think the Pistol is too soft for Eastern ice. (me 6'2" and 190 lbs).

New Seth Vicious is much stiffer with better edge hold; however it's a bit fat for the East.

the 3mm difference under foot isn't really going to make a difference on the east. I skied Pistols back east and loved em, didn't bring em out on really hard pack days, but soft snow, pow, chop, I found em fine. Personally, I never had any edge hold issues, but on the harder pack, I could really feel the ski trying to torque (when on edge).

I have my hard snow ski.... Volkl Supersport 6 Star (you can't beat them in bulletproof conditions!) I was just curious if the Seth Pistols would be a overkill for the pow, crud, and chop here on the east coast.
I picked up a pair of 175cm salomon xtra hots last year at an awesome price. I was trying to decide if I should sell them and get a pair of Seth Pistols.

Seth pistols or vicious would be fine in the east, but there are much better choices. Dynastar Legend 8000's are an all condition east coast ripper no doubt as well as some of the volkl line of skis. Alot of people ride Volkl and love them here on the east. all depends where in the east you are skiing to. Certain places get a real lot of snow here in NY and VT!

I know I'll probally get crap for this comment but I tried the Dynastars and was not impressed. I would of bought the Volkl's last year but I didn't have the cash. I have a buddy that can get the the Pistols dirt cheap if I want them.

Thatsagirl's husband skis them at Jay and he is a patroller. I ski Pocket Rockets as an everyday ski in the east. We have an instructor from Stowe who skis the Volkl Karma's day in and out......

Personally I would say only ski the Seth Pistols unless you are really cool and rad and not a nub since those graphics are too cool for school kthxbye

Oh btw I heard in the east they are going to make it mandatory to ski only Volkl P60's at all times since it is always glare ice.....

I use my pocket rockets only on powder days and out west , you dont find them very chattery and unstable in hardpack and crud? Mine are bad when I go to stop very fast in hardpack or crud. Never rode them on a normal day agin I am only 163 lbs on 165's to.
