Volant Ti Power

188cm Volant Ti Power (106-73-97) with Salomon 900 Carbon bindings (DIN 4-12) in very good used condition: no edge damage (they're sharp too), some light scratches on the bases, some cosmetic scratches to the caps, but the graphics are mostly intact.

I bought them used on eBay, but they were longer than advertised (and 5cm more than I wanted). They were so beautiful I couldn't bring myself to ship them back for a refund (I would have been out shipping with nothing to show for it anyway).

The bindings are mounted a tad bit short for my boots (mine are 330mm soles these probably handle up to 325mm), so I've been waffling on whether to keep 'em or sell 'em. From the looks of them they've probably only seen 30 days on the snow. The bindings show very little wear. I don't have a digital camera, but I do have this picture of them (below somewhere).

I'd like to get $125 plus actual packaging/shipping costs. PM me with offers, but keep in mind, I'm not desparate. I just feel like buying another pair of skis which I don't really need, and which are a bit shorter.

Well I'm not terribly surprised that no one has responded to this, they're pretty long and a few years old technology wise, but they are real crud crushers!

Just like no one trusts Ssh selling his B5s.

I think they're too short for Ghost, doesn't he just straightline on old SGs.

I will reiterate, I only want to sell them so I can buy another pair of Volants that are a better size for me, and because I'd have to remount the bindings to ski these.

Another bonus of these skis is that they would provide superior protection against people shooting guns into the air from under the lift.

Yeah, I may well go the route of putting mine on consignment in a shop. Thought I'd try this first. What percentage is the shop giving you of that $300?

My cousin runs the shop so he is just letting me sell them there. So I'm getting all of it.

I like the chubbs but I'm 5'8 with a wacked knee and they are too heavy at 185 and 12lbs

Sorry to hear about the knee, but way cool about the space to sell them. The shop I was thinking of putting mine in wants 40%, ouch! I'd have to put a pretty high price on them to get what I want out of them. I may try eBay if they don't sell here.

I'd really like to get some V2 Chubbs, but I don't want longer than 180s, I'd like to have them for tree skiing. I already have '01 Chubbs, 188s for wide open spaces.

Knee is fine now just makes clicking noises here and there. Yea the 185's are actually like 191 strange. I picked up some PE's at 169 for tree's and messin arround. Probably pick up a b3 w/ binding for 199. Nice to have a cousin in the buisness!

Sweet! These really are great skis for a bigger guy. Too bad Phlexon isn't still on Volants...

You're right about the b5s, but the good news for me is I still like skiin' 'em. I don't blame 'em, though!

I actually WAS a bigger guy when I bought them (which has nothing to do with trying to sell them), but since I mostly quit drinking beer last spring I've lost about 20 lbs.... I'm beginning to look svelte again.

Well, if at first you don't succeed, bump it up top again.

Well, I just bought another pair of Chubbs, so I gotta at least pretend (to myself) that I'm trying to sell these. It would be nice, and they certainly are worthwhile for those seeking a super stable platform in the cruddiest conditons.

Hey VA,
Fer a buck and a quarter, with those bindings, it sounds like a good deal. I honestly have never demoed Volants. I am currently on Pilot 8s at 180cm. Have loved them from day one but I have also squished them out and they are developing a speed limit.
5'8" 250# I like speed, but I also like putting them on edge on a blue groomer and letting them have their way.

Well I've become even less desparate to sell them since I found out, thanks to skiingman in the forward pressure thread, that I don't need to remount them, as my boots sqeeze into them just barely within the acceptable range of forward pressure (apparently). So, barring someone who wants of 188cm of crud smashing steel under their feet stepping up, I'll be glad to strap 'em on this year and see how they slide.
