wearing so many "top" brands as uniforms over the years has made me very leery of spending big bucks on them (something those brands should remember when offering cheap deals on uniforms). For instance, i'll only get goretex if it's rain performance I need. I used to be a Shells person, but found I kept reaching for my only padded jacket when unsure about the weather. So 2 US seasons back I got a padded goretex XCR Rossignol jacket with huge vent zips.
Brands I would not spend serious money on, having worn them as uniforms: Fila, Couloir, Karbon, Spyder, Avalanche, Marmot and DNA. That said, I've bought some of those brands since, but only if very cheap, and not for serious performance.
I know they don't do their premium product as uniforms, but memories are strong when considering spending a lot of money on a brand that's failed to impress you on a daily basis.
