Looking at the K2 Burnin' Luv for the missus.

Apparently it will be available in the UK with the Marker IBX11.0Ti binding either with or without the piston.

Yes or no re the piston & reasons please.

The piston is a great tool when used skiing hardpack. It does a wonderful job keeping the tip down and more of the ski on the firm snow/ice. It helps to dampen the ski, and keep chatter/vibration to a minimum. The piston is useless in deep soft snow.

What Canyons said. I think the Piston makes the hardpack a lot more enjoyable. Just turn it off when you're going through bumps or deep pow - it hurts rather than helps there.
