Free stuff, Shipping and handling only....

An idea for a thread...WFF (wanted, for free) and WTGA (want to give away) requests and offers. Shipping and reasonable handling costs (to be negotiated publicly or privately) only.

What's taking up space? You have too much old stuff...you need to make room for new stuff...you waited to long to sell it and the market peaked three seasons ago and now it's just ballast. But maybe it's just what someone else needs...a fellow Bear...

I'll start.

I need rock skis.

Anyone have any 170cm (give or take) carving skis. No core shots, no delamination, edges intact. Cosmetics unimportant. With servicable bindings suitable for a 225# guy preferred.

Will compensate for packing and inconvenience as well as shipping.

My closet needs cleaning

I do have a few early shaped skis, and one pencil ski, that are not saleable. I would be willing to give them a good home for shipping & handling costs.

For example: 01/02 Volant Gravity Power 185cm, 106-72-97: excellent condition. (spoken for)

Something smaller? 00/01 Fischer DRS 102 Ice Pro 166CM, 102-63-90: moderate use. (spoken for)

Something larger? 99/00 K2 Merlin IV 198cm, 99-65-88: light use (spoken for)

Something older? 98/99 Dynastar Coupe X8 xsl 195cm, SL pencil ski: Never seen snow, but drilled

OK, the rules are: I need a really good story and $30 for S&H to the lower 48.

Fill me in on these skis. Do they come with a binding? I have a student that is in our ski club who's house burnt down over the weekend, they lost everything. He is about 5'7" maybe 140lbs. The others seem like they would be too long for him. I have a brand new pair of boots that I bought last season(that are all wrong for me), that will probably fit him...he has a small foot, men's 7.
Please I want the Stealths. I will use them.
telerod15, can I borrow them sometime?
barrettscv how about those Volants? I've got some Black Tyrolia bindings that would compliment them nicely. Need a pair of poles or other ski swag? New ski hat, ect.

Teach,

The Fischer’s were used by a teenage female for club racing in the Midwest for two seasons. They have plenty of edge and the bases are excellent. They look like typical used skis, but Fischer’s seem to last forever and should be good for another season at least.

The modern replacement for this model is the "Race SC". The DRS 102 is a forgiving and versatile hard snow carver that could be (and was) used for club or Nastar racing.

Given the situation, I will provide new bindings. I have a pair of never-been-used Marker Logic M 5.1, the DIN is 2.5 to 9.5. The bindings come with lifters. The ski is drilled once for this pattern, a size 6, or smaller. Both the bindings and the skis are yellow with black trim.

If you will email or fax proof of the fire, I will send the whole package at no charge what-so-ever. :

Best regards,

Barrettscv

Doug asked about them first, if he wants them, he has dibs...

Yes, the waste is 45mm wide. they have a special lifter to get it up to the width needed for a regular binding. If you do a searth on "stealth", you will find some info.

Note, these are up in Vermont, I will not be able to get them shipped untill early December.

I have a original Burton M6 asym with plate bindings that will work with ski boots. Camber is gone but still works. Wider, softer than race board. Great for skier interesting in learning snowboard. Sick carver

Scarpa T1 shells US size 12. Three buckles, Black with green letters. Good condition. Really not sure about the size on these. There is one and a quarter inch extra space when my 11 1/2 foot is in the shell. I think it would fit 12 1/2 nicely.

Well,

The skis look new, no damage top or bottom. drilled once. No delam or other flaws.

Slider, what’s the story (Teach came up with a great one)?

It does not need to be a charity case, but I don't want them in someone’s closet or just as a rock ski, lets save them for a more needy bear , if you know what i mean.

Garmont Squadra telemark boot 29.5. Shell only, new. Best for experienced telemarker skiing inbounds or hike from lift (stiff, heavy). I would say you should be a big guy too, but if your wear size 12 shoes, you are probably pretty big. Will fit 12 1/2 even better, maybe 13. (The 28.5 shell fits my 11 1/2 feet).
I would be interested in the Garmont's. This would be my first telemark boot.

Absolutely! They will have nordic bindings on them. My fist pair of skinny skis Karhu XCD Gt were almost that narrow at the waist!

I would be happy to prepay the freight, just let me know the amount. I could send funds by pay pal, or send a cashiers check by snail mail.

Send me a PM with additional info; cost, your address, payment preference...

Thanks,

Barrettscv I was thinking about giving them to the Adaptive Ski Program here but the Volants would prolly bend under the stress of a sit-ski. They would serve an abled body skier better. Thanks.

Would the K2 IV work as an adaptive ski? :

Thanks Doug. No you are THE MAN! I'm sure you could ski 'em, but maybe you have other skis you would rather spend your slope time on. I have always wanted a pair of those since I first read about them. I just hope Phil doesn't change his mind between now and December.

Phil, I might like to make a trip to Vermont to pick them up and do some skiing. Maybe we can get together at a ski area and also make some turns together.

They are yours. My in-laws have passes to Killington and Okemo, I am sure we can work something out. If you are putting either Salomons or Markers on them, if I am there we can mount them up in the parking lot.

Barrettscv, thanks for the offer.

I took a ride to see the house tonight and was talking to the young man's mother. His skis and snowboard were not in the house, they were in the garage, which did not get touched by the fire. He is away at camp and doesn't even know about the fire yet, he is there till Friday.

Since his stuff was not damaged I am going to decline your offer so they can go to someone else who may benefit. Thank you for your generosity, it's nice to see that there are great people in the world like you.
