Hey don't hold back!! Tell us what you really think?

Thanks for defining skiing and the scope of Epicski. We were waiting for some one to come along and help us with that.

Well excuuuse me. I didn't know Ullr had apointed you abiter of all things snow. Can you give me one good reason why snowboarding is any less a part of skiing then alpine, tele, nordic, ect....? Marketing slogans don't count.

Are you a troll? You've been here since yesterday and are already trying to start a fight. I am a skier, and only a skier, but I know that snowboarding is appealing to many of the youth of today and the industry has seen an increase in visits with snowboarders (monoskis, twintips, "blades" and yes, even tele). Many areas would have not survived had it not been for a renewed interest in sliding down hill by whatever means.

I don't particularly like the behavior of some of the PUNKS out there on snowboards...but that has nothing to do with the snowboards. The PUNKS are like that even without the boards. They ruin it for others.
There are many boarders out there that are great, they even carve their turns.

There are the rat-packers out there also, these are the ones that get a board and never learn to ride it, sideslip the whole mountain causing scratchy spots and SIT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TRAIL in a pack. These are the boarders that give all boarders a bad name.

Though I was not around when rock and roll first came out, it met much the same resistance as snowboarding has. Give it time to be accepted and settle in. I think it can peacefully co-exist with skiing.

This may sound contradicting, but although there are snowboarders that i dont like the, for lack of a better word "punks", i do like some snowboarders, and you have like the good ones b/c they bring money to the mountain and are SAFE

Skiers are punks too. I rode the lift at Roundtop with a kid who had a whole gangster motif on his skis K2. That was some fixed heel crap, but free heel had it's Terminators, Black Widows, whatever. We're all punks, that's all I'm saying.

yeah that is true, amybe someone should start a post called ""Punks?""
We all punks but safety nerds at the same time. It's hard to understand but get on steep exposed terrain. No athiest in fox hole kind of thing.

A FIGHT! I want to play.

How about this one... who cares?

Or this... lets get rid of all snow riders on the mountain that are less than expert ability. Personally I'd like to take the true conservative appraoch and start ridding the hill of everyone starting at the beginner hill and working my way up, targeting anyone who I feel is inadequate or unfit for snow sliding sports. I'd probably leave a few snowboarders if I could be garunteed that those who couldn't keep their heels on the snow could be weeded out of the way. At least snowboarders make a good dynamic slalom course.

On a brighter side, snowboarders do great things for the skiing economy (overpriced gear they don't know how to use, overpriced lift passes that they only use once a day to sit in the middle of the fastest groomer on the hill, over priced lunches that they throw at their friends in the lodge, and they keep orthopedic doctors in business from hitting skiers all the time... more than I can say for tree hugging penny pinching free heelers who buy their straight tele skis at garage and swap sales (then ski on them for the next 10 years), pack their natually grown lunch in homemade bags, and eat on the bumper of their 1980 volvo in the parking lot.

Generalizations are fun. I say we start a new thread and start flaming every group present on the mountain that arent expert alpine skeirs. Hide the women and children and anyone who drives a 1980's Volvo Estate Wagon...
