OK, don't want to start another endless thread on Cupolo Sports but fyi:

In anticipation of the upcoming ski season, www.CupoloSports.com is
having a huge clearance sale. All ski and snowboard equipment is up to 70%
off regular retail prices. In addition to our already low prices, you
can save an additional 10% by entering cupoloskisale in the coupon code
field when you place your order. This offer is valid through August
15th.
One example: with the 10% discount a pair of 2004 Dynastar Omecarve 9, together with Look P10 bindings, goes for $234. I can't buy it but someone ought to ...

or a 186 Atomic GS11 in 186 for $135. Quite tempting!

or the Woman's Atomic C9W with Device 310 for $149. That less than an entry level ski!

Thanks a ton for that heads-up. I was able to get the Seth Pistols I've been trying to find for a while. Good deals on the B3's and B2's, too.

Based on previous comments I hesitated, but ordered yesterday and have a valid tracking number today. Will let you know when they arrive.

I would be surprised to see orders not filled right now. The shop is not attempting the same volume that they were a year ago. Their summer deals are always unbeatable. I took advantage of them last year, and had great luck. I may go check things out myself, even though I just ordered a pair of skis.
Good looks on the deals.

All I know is they don't have my Recons and anything else I'd have to demo.

I ordered from them earlier this summer. My skis came within a week.

I got my Seth Pistols yesterday- about a week after I ordered them. Little did I know that I'd have to pay a $35 "customs" fee on the skis in addition to the shipping... so be aware that might be charged to you as well. I did call the shop and informed them of that- and they went 50/50 with me on it, so that was nice.

Bummer. I fear that customs has caused many of the problems for Cupolos and other canadian suppliers that have been described in many threads. This is only one small price that we are paying for 911 and the necessity of stricter Homeland Security. Better safe than sorry.

I guess it varies. I never paid a customs fee when I ordered. And shipping was only $10, which is pretty cheap for a pair of skis.

When ordering from Cupola mention you are a member of this forum. His policy in the past has been to wave shipping fees for bears.

Rio thanks for the info....picked up the Volkl V3's ($139) with bindings for beater/lend out skis, and Atomic C9W's for friend....you say call them up and they waive shipping? On the invoice that was $30.....called 905.356.4850 and Jarrett waived the $30 shipping! Whoopee!

I live in Buffalo. A few years ago, the exchange rate was so favorable that you could buy equipment off the shelf in Canada at prices below US ProForm.

Before 911, it was easier to bring stuff back into the US from Canada. Now they want to see receipts and they ask a TON of questions. I haven't been pulled over yet, but its only a matter of time.

And yes, I think its safe to say that Customs and tighter shipping regulations caused a lot of Cupolos problems last season.

Happy to see some action resulting from this thread. I've had many good experiences w/Cupolo and just wish there was some legitimate excuse to add another pair of skis at present...

One note: they don't always have the clearest idea about what they're selling. The main instance of this is that they were selling a race-stock version of Atomic SL11s and GS11s and telling people that the only difference from retail was the race sticker on them. This was not the case, as the skis had a different profile and sidecut. Now: of course, that could be a good thing, depending on what you're looking for.

Another thing to note: they're selling 186 GS11s from 2004, and show the sidecut at 95-64-86. That's exactly the spec sidecut of the 171 GS11s from 2004, but different from the 186s. Most likely, they just copied the sidecut numbers off the first line of Atomic's list of specs and never looked at the skis' topsheet. But who knows?

Good catches. You've got to be careful buying on line. Thank god for the experts here who pick up on these details!

Cupolos got beat up pretty bad on these forums. Hopefully they have resolved whatever difficulties they encountered last season. They keep coming up with some incredible deals.

For anyone wondering, the marked dimensions on the listed 186 GS11 are 101-64-91 R: 21m.
