get ya dancin' shoes ready!!!!!

Buckwheat is the master of the Zydeco accordian. Don't miss the chance to catch this local band from Lafayette!

Every Thanksgiving eve a local dance hall, El Sido's, throws a party featuring
Buckwheat. Admittance is food and can goods which is given to the needy in our area. This music should not be confused with cajun bands. This is pure creole with strong afro influences. Start practicing your 2-step.

Buckwheat

Hot Tamale, Baby! I had the pleasure of seeing Buckwheat, Dr. John and Beausoleil a few years back at the N.J. Crawfish Festival. In terms of sheer musical energy, Buckwheat Zydeco could make James Brown seem like Pat Boone. If you ever have have the chance, go see him!

You sure that wasn't the N.J. Cockroach Festival?

Buckwheat

Very, very clever, Bean-boy - actually more clever than you thought, since lobsters, crawfish and their like are the marine equivalent of cockroaches. Actually it's a great festival, with great music and thousands of pounds of crawfish, alligator sausage and other cajun food flown in for the weekend.

A few other items flown in for the weekend as well, no doubt.

And I do knows whats I'm talking about - I'm off to the Cape this week and plan to indulge in some of those larger "marine equivalent of cockroaches". Also clams and ersters, now that the red tide has gone.

Enjoy, drb - just make sure they're New England and not Rocky Mountain oysters!

Buckwheat was a lot of fun. The band played for 3 hours. THere were a lot of people dancing, drinking and having a good ole time. Props to the Mountain Concert Series and Zion National Bank. Keep up the good work.
B.B. King on Wednesday! George Benson at DV on the weekend of the 26th
