See if you can end up at BTV - Burlington International Airport. That would be the most convenient, for sure. Otherwise, you may end up at Logan, in Boston, and have to drive up. Please keep me posted on what you're able to do on this.

Once you get to BTV, you can rent a car or arrange for one of us locals to drive you to Stowe.

Shoot!!! Bad news. Something has come up, something unavoidable, and alas I will not be at the ESA East (is that redundant) Weekend this year. Nor will the wonderful Amy. I would curse, but this is a family forum.

I've seen what they can do on Phi's feet. I've even seen them upside down on Phil's feet. LOL

Sorry Phil, couldn't pass that one up.

Boot sole 314mm, Phil. But, as you've written before, "it's a Metron thing". I might not "get it"

Good to be back Phil, it's been a quick Summer.

RiDeC58, becareful, you may end up like a lot of Phil's friends. Owning a pair of genunine, "used to be" Phil's skis.

Just PM'ed SkiMangoJazz, My checks will go out in the morning mail. I'll be at Stowe for ESA.

Stowe weekend

I was planning a trip to Stowe that same weekend...and then the EpicSki Academy notice popped up in my e-mail box. WOW...good timing!

For those of you who have been before, what kind of schedule is there?

I'd love to do the activities during the day, but I am coming to Stowe with my husband (beginning skiier, maybe only does 1-2 blue runs a day but mostly sticks to greens) and my two young children, who usually spend the day at the kiddie ski school. Because I work around the kids' ski schedules, we generally get to the slopes first thing and drop the kids at the ski school. I ski blues and blacks while my husband's on the greens, then we finish up around 3:30 pm when ski school ends and take the kids back to the hotel.

I'd love to know if there's a way I could swing spending the day doing the EpicSki Academy. Anyone with thoughts??

To follow up on the previous Amtrak discussions on here, Amtrak is having an almost-too-hard-to-believe promotion going on through March '06 in the Northeast Corridor. After two people purchase tickets, the 3rd through 6th passengers can get the same ticket for 90% less. (Yes, that's 10% of normal price for 3 through 6). Go to www.amtrak.com and click on the Share Fares Save Big link.

P.S: <EDITORIALIZE>Those evil Republicans down in Washington want to cut funding to Amtrak, and even dismantly it completely. Shame on them!</EDITORIALIZE>

The fine print says a Blackout date is December 16, 2005 - January 2, 2006. can only do one way for ESA East.

So, how many of you are going to make the ESA EW part of your early-season tune-up? This seems a really good way of starting the season on an amazing note--especially with the snow so far. So... are you going?
Absolutely, and praying daily daily for snow...
Who else is going??
I've just sent in my application form!

(will there be a prize for the furthest travelled?)

Woo-hoo, I am off that weekend. Depending if my son is coming with me to VT, I might come up. If I can't make if for Saturday adn I just want to meet with everyone for dinner, where is the dinner being held?
Phil, I believe the Saturday night dinner is right at the Stoweflake Inn.

What's the current count for ESA?

I'm curious how many are confirmed. I'm considering going.
