Ventana X-5 is as good as any of the others mentioned, and belongs at the top of any "cost no object" list. The new Turner design (TNT) on the 5-spot/6-pack is very similiar to what Sherwood at Ventana has been designing for years. I am riding an X-5, and it has incredible traction on the climbs, sucks up the bumps, and the handling (2005) is spot-on and balanced. There is no "single-pivot stiffening" or "brake jack" that detractors (who are in love with Horst Link designs-just look at all the people jumping ship from Turner) like to bring up with this design. The 2004 X-5 that Gonz was referring to was too linear and the head tube was pretty steep: all that has been changed.
