Instructor/area recommendations near Peoria?

So, here's a weird request...

I have been doing a lot of work for a company in Peoria. During an outing in Peoria, I met a couple with a young child that they would like to start skiing this year. They are looking for an area in their general vicinity with a good children's instructor and a recommendation of a specific instructor. Hence, I thought I'd see if any of you know of such people. If you are such people, don't be shy!

Steve, are you talking about Peoria Il? If so enjoy Big Al's. Chestnut Mtn is the closest area to Peoria Il. They have a seperate kids ski school. The director whose name skips me, is great with kids and has a lot of fun out on the hill and off with them. I ski with him quit often and have seen him work, he very good with the kids. Oh yea, Kent is his name.

RickB (old habits die hard), yes, Peoria, IL. Big Al's isn't exactly my cup-o-tea (I couldn't even visit it from home--my router filters rejected it!). But, thanks for the thought... :

Anyway, thanks a lot for the referral. I'll pass that along to the family. If you have any other thoughts about reasonably near-by areas, do let me know!

The Bear Uglymoney (Nate's last name slips from my memory) teaches at Chestnut.

Frank Prost is the SSD there. Or at least the last time I heard. I've known him for 20+ years. I don't know of a specific children's instructor though.

Chestnut is in Galena Il. Frank did retire a couple of years ago but has left the ski school in good hands. They have a kids ski school that is run independent from the regular ski school. The staff does train with the school but has their own system and their own building. Kent, the kids director is great with junior skiers and you can see this with the rest of his staff. The staff is well trained as Frank and Robin Roberts who are both psia-c examiners still train the staff. If the kids really get into it the junior race team has also been very succesful.

Andy(can't remember his last name ) and Todd Flack are coaches there. They've had some pretty good kids come from there (Chesnut)
