Best all mountain ski for next year?

Thread Starter
From all the collective experience here, what do you guys think will be the best all mountain ski for next year? I never got around to demoing next years skis, but from what I hear the new Volkl AC3s and AC4s might be the top dogs this upcoming year. Opinions? Who here has demoed a crazy-sick all mountain ski for 2006?

Hot Rods

Go with what Rusty and purchase my 178cms for a steal

Another vote for Hot Rods.

MB5. Unchanged for 2006, but so versatile your other skis will get lonely.

Whatever all-mountain skis Gonzo is on

I think any of the skis that are 130ish/80ish/110ish will be the cats pajama's next year.

Hot Rod Top Fuel. I have not skied the rest of the skis in the Hot Rod series yet, but I love my Top Fuels and highly recommend them.

I will beat any price on next years Hot Rods for sure .

I was really impressed by the K2 Apache Outlaw. Perhaps too wide underfoot for most people to consider an "all mountain ski," but I personally have fully bought into the "90 is the new 80" thinking.

I'm not sure of the dimensions or any other details on the hot rods, but i have heard great things. Just for further info, i recommend Nordica. I raced on them all last season, and plan to get a new pair or two for this year. Their stock skis are great for how i ski and race and seem to inspire a lot of confidence (as well as speed). I still have my Elan GSX's though ...for fast knarly courses - not much beats them - they are rockets if you can keep them going in the direction you want them to.
I vote for Nordica though

Are you using VIST or PowerAxe plates on the GSXs?
I vote for the volkl mantra or Legend 8800. At least for all mountain out west.
PowerAxe on the GSX. I might ditch Salomons totally and go with Marker Pistons on the Nordicas though. I currently run a VIST on my nordicas, but they are coming unplated next year, so its either my poweraxe Sl's or the new marker piston with some 1400's. I'm selling off/retiring most of the Elans (slx's) but the plates and bindings are still in top notch condition... one set has only been skied about 30 times. It seems a shame to retire them all.

Head im88

I vote for the Head im88. SCSA's skiing them, they must be awesome.

I'm going with the Dynastar Legend 8000 as well. I can't believe there haven't been more votes for this ski! Atomic MB5 running a close second, in my opinion.
AC4, Legend 8000, new Rossi B3 (which I predict will be the darling of the magazines and ski shops this fall)

I think

the Metrons will continue to be in demand.
Head Monster iM 77 Chip.
Don't rule out Stockli !!!!
I think the AC4 is going to make a lot of folks happy...especially those who prefer Heavenly to Squaw. For those who see the world the other way around, the Mantra is going to be the shiz-nit. As you can tell...I'm Volkl-biased.

Ditto. Go phat.

Remember when 85mm used to be really fat?
I think the interesting comparison will be the Atomic Metron:b5 to the Hot Rod Top Fuel. I have yet to see any unbiased comparison of them, but am anxious for my personal ride on them come this season's demo days.

Nordica makes a nice ski. You don't see too many though.

FoxHat is right Paul, Nordica's Hot Rods are going to bust out big this season. I see you live in my neck of the woods. If you ever need any help with Nordica equipment please feel free to pm me. I rep for them. HPD
