We just attempted Grizzly Peak last weekend. Here's a trip report with pictures
. We couldn't make it all the way because of seemingly unstable snow just before the last rise.
But otherwise the conditions were great:
Dogs are allowed, since we saw several. The forecast calls for thunderstorms tomorrow, so better watch out! The wide ridge between Sniktau and just before Grizzly Peak was mostly clear of snow (other than a few isolated patches), with lots of wildflowers. What I saw was that the eastern faces of all the mountains and ridges were still packed with snow, while most other aspects were dry.
The only other hike we did last weekend was Mayflower Gulch, but that's not as high as you're looking for. It was free of snow until we got to the end of the valley at the base of Fletcher Mountain -- lots of snow going up the Gore Range.
Anyone know if Searle, Kokomo, or Shrine Passes are free of snow?
