As of today I'm ready

Got myself all the new gears set up and ready. Wax and tuned all my old gears as well. Got 2 pairs of 150s and 2 pairs of 180s just sitting in my garage waiting for the snow (my dad said: "like U going to use those long ones") I even got my boots to fit my feet just perfect.

I would just go outside and ski down the grass hill if there isn't so much gravel under the surface

It's been somewhat cool these few days in the city and I'm getting that false early fall feeling. dammit! it's only JUNE!

I'm set.
My Crossmax 10s don't hurt my feet anymore. My Kästle SGs are waxed and sharp enough to shave with, and I have a brand new pair of Fischer SCs waiting to go.

Not even close.

I need new skis, couple of pairs of poles, and my boots need fitting work - what's new.

I have skied in my Patigonia drop seat pants since 90-91. It's time for a new pair. I have a 30" inseam and hate to pay for tayloring on Gortex. Plan to check out Freeport in August.

Need a new helmet, goggles among other things.

Oh, did I mention - there are no funds, it's a crisis. I'm hoping my wife will understand the need and lend me her M/C.

I am set for me. All new gear last year. I have my ASC All-4-1 pass too. My son and wife might want new boots, both are in older Flexons, might upgrade to Kryptons and my son really liked my Metrons, so if I spend any money next year it will be on them.

Well, that's the skis, but where and when are you going to ski?
I've booked to fly to Vancouver on 3rd February to ski 6 days at Whistler (my first skiing outside Europe), including two with Extremely Canadian, then I'm doing a week heli skiing with last frontier at Ripley Creek (my first heli-ski holiday. It might seem early to book but several weeks are already fully booked). All that is going to be horrificaly expensive but, hey, I inherited some money.
Then, on 17th March, I and 5 friends will fly to Turin or Venice, depending if there is enough snow to ski the steeps of the Dolomites. If there is, we will ski 2 warm-up days in Arraba, then be joined by the wonderful guide Zeb Roche to ski 3 more days of the steep off-piste couloirs there, then a night in a mountain hut and then 2 more, similar days with him in Cortina. However if the snow is no good there (the steep gullies are rocky and the snow unreliable in the Dolomites) we will fly to Turin and ski similarly in Zeb's own area (the Haute Maurienne) where we skied with him last year.
We have booked the guide (he has about half his weeks booked already) but haven't booked the flights yet since it is a few more days till the cut-price airline tickets (Easyjet and Ryanair) become available. However they will only be about £50 or less, if we book early, so we can just junk the one we don't use.

Beat that. (Well, OK, it won't be hard if you live anywhere near snow).

Oh yes, equipment: I'm waiting for Utah49 to send me his almost unused Volant Chubbs. We agreed a price. I loved mine (so stable: they smash through crud) but they are trashed.

If had to be set I could be. But I'm not since I still need new Ice axes, need a new pack, and want another Jacket. Other than that pocket rockets readt to go , scratches ready to go. Need to mount bindings on my Legend 8000's and I'm about ready to take my scratches and start sking down the rock quarry walls

Crap, summer didn't arrive here until 2 days ago. I'm not even thinking of winter.

Look, my season ended over 3 months ago and I'm trying to stay cheerfull: this isn't helping.
Set for winter? Not even...I have two pair of skis in need of bindings (which sit in their boxes mocking me) and one pair which need the heels remounted to fit my boots. One pair of skis need their bases sanded, and another pair need to be ptexed. Then there's hot waxing.....

What bums me out (for no logical reason as I won't be doing much skiing this summer) is that I won't be getting the bindings mounted (or remounted) until my local ski shop opens in the fall.

Oh well, at least I have a set up ready for Mount Hood on Friday.

Was in the dumps yesterday from falling off a(truck)trailer and smashing up(broken ribs)my left side. Got home finally and there were a new pair of twin tips I bought at the door. Made things alittle better.

All I need is some duct tape on the hole the tree at Vail ripped in my jacket. Then I'm ready. Maybe some more stickers for my helmet too.

I still need to get my tickets to Cham, and to find a nice place to rent there for a month.

Huckingfellers,

So you're from Verona, NY. I live in Syracuse, pretty cool.

I want to go skiing bad. I just went for a hike in the Adirondaks and saw some snow hiding under a large rock, I knew I should have brought my skis.
