Stockli Sinox Pro V K2 Crossfires

Hey guys,

I'd much appreciate if anyone could help me out. I'm currently in the market for a pair of skis. I'm from Australia where we don't get to see much of the soft stuff. Most slopes are groomed and get quite chopped up and bumby during the day. I'm an advanced intermediate skiing most advanced blue and black runs.

I've been doing some research online and have most ppl have suggested the K2 Crossfires. They're expensive so when I went into a store the other day, a guy suggested the Stockli Sinox Pro 05/06. Now I can't seem to find any info these skis and was wondering if anyones had any experience with them? They're slightly cheaper than the Crossfires too.

Snow has started to fall here so I'm gonna hit the slopes as soon as the lifts open. I intend to demo the K2's but since the market is relatively small no one has demo's for the Stockli's. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks!!

I'll be interested to see if you get any information about the Sinox Pros. Reason being, I came across some on Ebay a few months back, and a friend ended up getting them for $125 (no bindings). I called 1 store and they were selling for over $500, so it was hard to pass up. At the time I didn't have any information other than what Stockli says on their website:

"Simply ski for the day and enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery. That’s what winter sport is all about! Easy handling, easy control and most forgiving. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced skier, minimal strength is needed for the best fun possible."

This friend is a casual intermediate skier with little experience with shaped skis, so we took a chance. I know he used them once and was happy with them, but he does not have carving skills yet. I think they'll be fine for him, but still don't really know what their target skier is. From the description I'd guess a skilled skier who enjoys cruising at moderate speeds, but maybe I'm way off.

Good luck.

I talked to another store attendant the other day to try and squeeze more info abt the skis. He said if u were to compare them to the K2's (which I was), they lie somewhere between the Apache X and the Apache Crossfires in terms of stiffness. The Stockli's have roughly the same shape as both those skis. If anyone else has anymore info please share with us.

I'll email skiershop now thanks!
