Atomic SX 11 Supercross and Volant Genesis Gold

Thread Starter
I just was looking at an ad for Atomic SX 11s, and I noticed that they have the exact same dimensions as the '05 Volant Genesis Gold. Since they are both made by Atomic, I am curious how these two skis compare, obviously their construction is much different, but what is the difference in the way they ski? I've read great things about both of them. Has anyone skied them both enough to have an informed opinion?

Haven't skied the Volants, but the SX:11 is an on-piste ripper. You have to work it pretty hard to make it do bumps and so forth.

I skied a season on mine, and loved them on-piste. Speed, grip, power . . . the works. Came up one chair with an instructor who'd followed me down a steep groomed run - he commented on how the run had been icy, and he'd been surprised how fast I'd been going . . . . I just didn't notice any lack of grip.

However - when the snow got beaten up, or while trying to do mogulfields, they were hard work indeed . . . .

Googling the Volant says it's a more multipurpose ski.
