i tried a helmet while skiing the other day. I think it was the Briko Classic. I was pleasantly surprised in how comfortable it was and how warm it was It had a nice snug fit to it without crushing my cheeks. I was able to hear through the ear holes pretty easily though had problems occaisionally. Even with the goggles on, my peripheral vision stayed the same. Aside from my head being warm, i really didn't notice a difference between having a helment and not having one. I felt safer at the same time too

Con was that i probably looked like a total dork but that's ok I'd rather be safe than sorry considering you don't know what other ppl might do to you when they fall.

Noticed that the # of ppl wearing helmets in Southern CA is significantly lower than that in Northern CA. Like...1 person every 50-60 ppl i saw...Northern CA when I went last season, the ratio was about 1 to 20-30.

I'd say helmets are definitely worth trying out

My only objection to wearing a helmet is that I can't hear the snow or, more importantly the sound of the ice underfoot.

The wind roar can get pretty annoying too.

Mello, where did you ski? I was at Mtn. High Wednesday nite, and almost all the snowboarders (who are 90% of the people there!) had helmets.
