I should be in the Whistler Bowl and environs on Saturday or Sunday or Monday or all three...Life in Vancouver definitely has some perks.

I'll be skiing for a few more months to come...

Late Season Skiing

How late is Whistler open this year? Mammoth is open until July 4, has 14 feet of snow. Going up for next 5 days, should be good spring skiing.

my next time with skis on will be July 11 and 12 sliding on some plastic.

I only wish I was still able to make a day trip to ski (or even weekend), oh well, east coast has been totally shut down for a while now.

I got the cast off my arm two weeks ago and I should be at A-Basin starting this Sunday or Monday for a week! Will probably be back again mid- to late-June, but I heard that they are closing June 5.

We're still skiing in Los Angeles.

I just skied powder.

hey oldschool,

dont get cocky. as long as there's timberline, someone will always be able to beat your last day, even in BC. that said, i'm still jealous; it's 86 in Houston today.

I'm skiing at Alyeska this weekend, and will probably get in a couple camp days in mid June before the snow is completely gone.

Skiing at Mammoth Memorial weekend.

Old School, enjoy it now. Most resorts in the midwest closed in March. Aren't you moving to Madison, Wisconsin soon?

Planning to go to Mammoth for the Memorial Day weekend. After the PNW snow drought this season, I need to be reminded of what 13'-15' feet of snow looks like.
Sunday at the Basin, of course, and every day I can get up there until closing (why are they closing so early this year???). June 6-7 climbing and skiing Shasta with Eric D, Rick and Hitu!

Mt Adams this weekend. With a snow level of 5500 ft Friday, that gives us about 6000' of fall line, 40 degree pow in the SW Chutes.

Yeah...I have to act the braggart before I'm banished to the back of the line.

Man there is so much snow still up at A-Basin. The North Pole hike is fantastic and all of Pali is still covered even at the bottom. Can't believe they are thinking of closing June 5th. I will be there Friday and Saturday.

I suspect Timberline's summer skiing will be cut short by the poor PNW season, as it was in 2001. U.S. Ski Team is going to Mammoth in June.

Alpine this weekend, I think I'm gonna skin up the Mt Rose ski area tomorrow AM, then go Mt. Biking down in Truckee in the afternoon.

I sent an email to A-Basin asking why they are closing so early this year, especially considering the great spring conditions. They are going to replace the rental building at the base, and the contractor will not start work with the area open (liability concerns, evidently- they are worried about doing the demolition in a high pedestrian traffic area with no good access around it).

It sounds like in the future they will to stay open as long as they can as usual. That is good news if it is true. Too bad they had to replace the building in a year with such good snow.

A-Basin's snowfall was average at best this season. It may look good because some recent seasons have been subpar, 2002 in particular. I don't think it had much chance for 4th of July this year, certainly not on Pali.

Not this year. This is going to be another one of those years where T-line has to close early and has no skiing for 2 or 3 months.

Thankfully no. We're still going strong here. Had an awesome day on the slopes at the bird today. They're hoping to stay open for at least 4 more weeks and hopefully until July 4th.
