If I were footloose and fancy-free, Denver would be high on the list Lisa! As it is now, I'm staying here in town for Pediatric residency - made the kids happy to not have to move, and it is a good program. That takes care of the next three years.
Then, I have signed an agreement with the state of WV to do at least 2 years of rural primary care, in exchange some partial student loan-payback/forgiveness.(Current loan total is on the order of $110,000
:. And I'm lucky 'cause my undergrad was paid off a long time ago - not the case for my classmates)
That takes me to five years from now. After that will depend on how settled I am, and the kid situation, and custody issues and how much of the loan is left. I haven't entirely ruled out a Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Disease, (Denver Children's has such a program), but by then I might not be willing to go back and be in a training situation again. Might just try to sit for the Tropical Medicine Boards instead.
Alot of you are talking about retirement goals, but sheesh, I'll have to work until I die!
As for ski locale, since I'm not moving right now, I'll be hanging around 7Springs for awhile.
Speaking of which..... hey Rob - Uncle Louie did an awesome job getting me back "on" skis, But just remember I'M the one who "stayed" on skis
