Libby Ludlow is named to "A" team. Scott McCartney of Redmond, WA & Paul McDonald of Bellevue, WA are both named to "B" Team. They are all three from our race program CMAC at Crystal Mountain, WA. Libby's brother Doug & Scott coached my boys. Also Ted Ligety made the "A" team My older son had to race against Paul & Evan here locally & Ligety in Park City!

Evan Weiss (No relation to me) is from Stevens Pass, WA. named to "C" team

Nope. Its an Olympic year so the team's being required to wear Nike gear during the opening ceremonies. Since Miller has a clothing deal with someone else & refuses he's being dropped.

You might check that again, as Bode just signed with Nike.

Not to surprising for Evan, as I recall he won his first Buddy Warner as J7. Four out of 26 men is a good showing for Washington, now we just need the gals to step up to the plate.

Courtney Hammond (Now at rowmark) had a 7th in slalom at US championships and Jilyne McDonald (Paul's sister) is skiing for UVM Varsity as a freshman.

Maybe there is hope!

I saw Jilyne made the development team also.

I missed that. that's great. Their parents are good friends of mine. I ski with them all the time!

there is another younger one coming up too, Amanda. She has also been at the top of the standings as a J3.

Where's Herman Maier? I heard that crazy rumour he was going to ski for the US but ignored it because it was too .... crazy. But a couple of weeks ago I ran into someone I consider very credible and connected and he claimed it was happening. Officially back to crazy rumour status?

An Austrian that can barely speak English skiing for the US? That's as absurd as the idea of an Austrian that can barely speak English being governor of the biggest state in the nation......it will never happen.

I am very pleased to see Jill McDonald be given a chance with the development team. According to my son who raced with her last season she had fantastic progresss throughout the season and at the end "really ripped" in slalom. Had she not fallen in the slalom at the NCAA's she would have been a real contender for the title.

Say, all you Washington guys. Can you tell me the name of the guy I skied with at Crystal? It was Bill W (Whitensted maybe?) He's "almost 70", has a,teflon patch holding his heart together, said he used to coach Mighty Mites, had kids that had raced and had been on the ski school since 1958. He was a professor at a community college before he retired.
I skied with him the day I was there. He showed me around all the runs he could ski (most of the groomers) and sent me up the Powder Bowl when he got tired. He told me his doctor told him "don't fight gravity" so he skied about Mach something. He apologized for stopping so often but it was just about right for my Midwestern legs. I had a great time with him out there. I just can't remember his last name (memory is the second thing to go)
Anyway, if you know who I mean, thank him for me.
