Yankees chant

I was never one to approve of the stupid chant Sox fans use for the Yankees as it was never true. I used to say "no they don't, I wish they did."

Well I guess we can say they do now! 11-18, let's see to be at .600 at the Allstar break, which would make it possible to make the playoffs, they'll need to go 38 and 14 the next 52 games. Likely? I think not.

It's been a long time since this O's fan has had a reason to smile..

Lets hope for all Yankee employees that Georges Horse wins the Kentucky Derby this weekend......or everyone will be out of a job!!!

I look @ it as a SLEEPING GIANT.....they will fix the holes......you will not spend 200 million on team....and not be willing to spend another 20-30 million to fix this situation....

SMJ, if they keep playing this way...the home fans will start chanting!!

Posted too fast, my friends. 5 in a row (counting a win today if they hold the lead) and they're only 3 games under .500.

WOW. Only THREE games under mediocre???!!!

Sox win.
Again.

To quote a wise student of baseball: "the ship will right itself."

Four HRs today... the lumber is back.

well, it's true, that wiseman DID say that, and he still stands by it (though he would not mind in the least to be wrong on this one). Did Tino "go yard" again?

Hey Jason, got those bags packed for Columbus?

Yes, Tino did it again...5 in a row. The only positive about this game was a win and decent bullpen support. Starting pitching and defense were a disgrace.

You're right, only three games under. Not as bad as last year, when they were 7 games under after 30 games and won the division.

"...when they were 7 games under after 30 games and won the division."

and went on to much bigger and better things.

(by the way, Sox win second straight comeback, walk-off HR game today.)

Big news: Jason Giambi got a hit yesterday.

Does anyone know why the Yankees weren't able to void the rest of his contract after the steroid scandal? Is it THAT iron-clad?

Drat! 19-19 today or 8 - 1 since this thread began. thats about 1/2 way to Steves .600 mark in just 10 days.

Who woke them up??

It is, however, a long long season---don't start betting cheesburgers just yet:

I said they'd have to go 38-14, so now it's down to 30-13, still not easy. They should've done better, and thus I won't be surprised if they start to do great, but they have some real weaknesses, bullpen and depth mostly.

Should be a fun season, Baltimore still is the team to beat!

And the poor Red Sox. Once healthy we'll have 6 proven starting pitchers. Our projected 3-4 and 5's are all in the 3+ ERA range right now. I'll take Arroyo, Clement, Miller and Wakefield at the bottom of the rotation any day!

Not to mention the Lefty, Righty,Lefty, Righty,Lefty, Righty,Switch,Switch, Switch current batting order.

Damon, Renteria, Ortiz, Ramirez, Nixon, Millar, Varitek, Mueller, Bellhorn. Not bad.

Well of course that's because Wells is a fat drunk right? Who needs him? We'll be picking up a new great pitcher by the All Star break. Curt Schilling is his name. Wells might come around, but he's not a Red Sock, and we have plenty o' strong starters.
