WANTED: Lange 120 LF 9-9.5

I was foamed in some Lange 100 comps. I would love to try those bladders in come 120 LowFits now that I know the tricks to make them more flexible.(A personal fit issue: even soft boots need to be modified before I can get a good flex pattern from them). If anybody has some to sell cheap, or just some shells, I would be interested. Condition of liner no issue. Sole condition not an issue as I use the canted soles. As long as the shell's integrity is good I will be happy. Would like to keep it around $100 as this is an experiment. LewBob: lewbobski@att.net

I emailed you also. Can you tell me which buckles need replacement and I will check with a local shop to find out what it will cost for replacement? Thanks. Lew

SkierBob's boots are medium fit, so I am still looking. Lew

I have 130 LFs from 03-04 new in a 27.5/9.5. PM me if interested. 130s aren't that much stiffer, I've tried both, it's more an issue of forward lean.

I am afraid they would be a bit much for me. What are you asking? What is the difference in forward lean: more or less than the 120? Thanks, Lew
post #7 of 22
More forward lean, probably 250.

LewBob,

If you don't find a pair of shells, I'm sure I can come up with a pair before the season starts.

Also another option we never discussed. If you felt that the 120 was still to stiff after skiing in them, I would suggest taking the cuff off of your Comp 100 and putting it on the 120 lower. It's never a problem putting a softer cuff on a stiffer boot, put it's almost always a problem putting a stiffer cuff on a softer lower. So I figure by the ski season we can get you very close to "Lange Nirvana"

Coup, thanks for the help. Great idea about the cuffs. What I found with the 100's and previous overlaps I have owned, is that the lower cuff hits on my high instep and impedes flex, especially when it is cold. I ground about 1/8 to 3/16ths off the bottom cuff of the 100's and they then gave me smooth, progressive flex. I imagine I can do the same with 120's. I will PM you. Regards, Lew

PS, As I think about it, you have a capital idea. I noticed the cuff on the 100 is flexible enough that it really wraps my ankle nicely without creating pressure points as I snug. I can see it stretching some at the bottom of the cuff. Good back-up plan if the 120 cuff is a lot stiffer.

There's a rigid piece of plastic on the front of the tongue of the 130, so I would think there's a big difference in cuff stiffness as compared to other models. There may be a similar difference btwn the 120 and 100 as well.

I look forward to finding out. I am in incorrigable tinkerer, so having some alternatives to fine tune the boots is fine by me. Lew

Bump. Anyone replacing their Lange 120LF's, size 9 or 9.5? Lew

LewBob -- Would 9.5 120 MFs work? You sound set on the LFs, but thought I would check anyway. I got a great deal on them used (about 25 days), but skied on them one day at the end of last season and found out they were just a little to short for me. I bought another pair of the same boot in a half size larger. The shells and buckles have some scratches, but are in good shape. Liners are in good shape too, and can be re-heated/formed. Let me know.

Hmmm... Looking at the shells I don't see any markings inside or out that indicate MF or LF. Do you know if there are any indications on the shells for LFs?

Powdertracks, Thanks for offer. I do want LF as my foot is very skinny. I have`a pair coming from Angus7 in Boulder.

PS. I just got the boots. Angus 7 delivered a pair that are in great shape. Good guy to deal with. Lew
