In case anybody was wondering, I went to Sierra Summit, and it was so good I stayed an extra day.
It would start out icy at 9:00. By 10:00, lower elevations would thaw enough to get nice, good bite. The softening snow would work its way up the mountain until It would hit the top around noon. Because Sierra Summit is a northward facing slope, it doesn't get the full brunt of the sun. Because of this, the snow would stay nice at the higher elevations almost until close, at which point it would start to get a little slow.
Also, lift tickets for military members were only $30. And Frank down in the tune shop ground and filled my bases, beveled my edges, and waxed my skis for $30- did a great job.
