Snowbasin Conclave - Saturday, April 16?

Okay, all you UUUUUUtahans.

The forecast looks a little warm for this weekend but they're at least predicting sub-freezing temps overnight on Friday and sunshine on Saturday. I've basically made up my mind that we're coming down Friday night to ski Snowbasin on Saturday (and back to Jackson on Saturday night).

Lshull, Bill Emmett, Okelupaca, Zion Zig Zag, and anybody else - you wanna ski Snowbasin this Saturday? How about all you Park City guys?

Based on the forecast, it'll be an early game. We're planning to be there at 9:00am and ski until it gets too sloppy.

Any takers?

Hey Bob,

Your post made me think about this 1 more time even though I couldn't leave until Friday and would have to come back Monday. However, with this short of advance, flights are unaffordable. If I find a deal in the next few days, though, I would come!

Looks like a Plan Bob. I keep looking up at all this great snow and wonder why the lifts aren't running.

I was up this morning and the snow was fun until 12:30, then it got a little sticky. You know that the only chairs running are needles and JP, right?

Anyway, I may try and make it up but I'll be coming off a 48hr shift at 8 that morning, so it depends on how much rest i've had.

I wonder what the press will cover more? The Snowbasin Conclave or the Cardinal Conclave....

I can probably make it up there Bob.

Bob,

Let me talk to Laure. I'm sure she's want to come. Have you secured a place to stay? Let me know if you want to do Alta on Sunday too <EDIT> Nevermind, I read the rest of the post</edit>. This is going to be fun!!!!

Alas, my daughter's soccer game and my father-in-law's birthday celebration will take precedence. Rats.

Make some nice soft turns for me.

Oh, there you go with all that *family* stuff when you should be slopping around in the spring slush. I'm sorry to hear you can't make it. Come up and do a scramble in the Tetons with us this summer - I want to do Ice Point, Storm Point, and Symmetry Spire.

Steelman, lshull, Utah 49, and ZZZ; looks like it's just Ruth and I. Most of these other JH wieners have put up their skis for the season or are already hanging out on some beach somewhere.

We're staying in Ogden on Friday night and we'll be standing at the Needles Gondola loading deck at 9:00am on Saturday morning. Will everyone be able to assemble by then or do we need an alternate meeting arrangement a little later in the morning. I guess I could carry our little Motorola radio if anyone has a frequency they want to use.

While we're at it, we should do burgers and brews afterwards at "the oaks" in Ogden canyon...

Not sure if all of the lodges will be open so I suggest that we meet at the patio in front of Earls lodge at noon.

That sounds great to us. We'll take off for JH after that.

Earl's at noon sounds like a plan for the secondary meeting.

Lonnie knows me, but for the rest of you, I'll likely have orange Technica boots. my adorable little reb/white/blue Dynastar slalom skis, gray pants, a black jacket or vest, and I'll be wearing a black JH ball cap.

See y'all.
