PNW Gets Hammered - Finally!

Both Whistler/Blackcomb and Mt. Baker are closing in on 100 inch bases, Crystal Mountain has re-opened and much more snow is expected over the coming days.

In spite of the depressing snow year, it appears we'll be finishing with a flurry (literally).

It gives one hope that Global Warming hasn't totally overtaken, and more great winters are yet to come.

I'm on my way back home after a fantastic week at w/b. Managed to get everything, powder, sun, and on the last day storm skiing. There were a handful of people skiing harmony yesterday, and it was all good. At the end of the day I skied down to my locker, dried my skis and put them in the locker until next season. What a way to end it.

And more on the way for those who are coming up.
43cm overnight, warmed up quite a bit, but there's even more snow coming. You can never tell what will happen here week to week.

Bachelor now has a bigger base than nearly every place in Colorado. (Wolf Creek had their normal epic year) We opened Thanksgiving and never closed up. Not a great winter, but you know, we are a bit spoiled out here. Snowing today, more on the way.

Not quite PNW, but it finally snowed here in Idaho. Bogus Basin got a couple feet and re-opened this past Friday. Tentative re-closing scheduled for April 10th. Unfortunately it got warm right when the snow finished falling, so this weekend was mashed potatoes. But it cooled off again and we got another 5" or so in the last 36 hours.
