First of all, I didn't see Cirque's edited version of his last post asking for my video (but I already told you I don't have any - I will probably get some in Feb. and will be happy to post it) and also mentioining Marmot.
I'm sorry if I hurt anybody's feelings, this was not the intention, and if it makes Cirque feel any better, he is far ahead of Marmot (to his credit, he doesn't mind my saying so).
But, the truth remains simple that, in this footage at least, he has his weight WAY in the backseat and this is not necessay or good. And, HB himself decided to include the above end part of the quote on the subject.
Secondly, I don't agree at all with HB's comments about my pic in the powder - but he is entitiled to his opinion. IMO, he should have such balance. I think the one point that seems somewhat valid is what looks like the over rotation, where you see my outside
arm already squaring, but take a closer look and realize that I am actually finishing this turn and anticipating about to start another - holding a tighter line near the trees. But, anyway, no one is perfect and never claimed to be. The issues I mentioned to Marmot (and to a much lesser extent Cirquerider) are basic and gross. And, yes, I definately hold PMTS in the highest esteem.
But, as Matter mentioned a couple of days ago, and I have to admit its cool: "But, I'm not into arguing about technique.".
Let's get back to the skis guys. I have added my latest thinking/dilemma to the Mantra vs im88 vs 8800 thread. I have brought up what I think is an interesting quiry at the heart of the matter of choosing a powder ski. Check it out there if you want to.
Either way, you know, peace/love/understanding etc.
