WTB: Rossi B2s or XX w/bindings

Bought some Volkl 5's recently (1 mo) but moved into glade skiing recently. Demoed the B2 and immediately loved them; XX's I'm told are the same ski so I'd prefer saving the $$.

Looking for 170's or smaller. The volkls, for me, are fantastic on harder snow but not so hot in the soft stuff or crud.

The XX is not the same ski. It is 4mm thinner at the waist and a bit stiffer in the tip & tail. It isn't as damp or forgiving as the B2 nor is it as good in soft stuff. On the other hand, it has a bit more kick, is a better high speed cruiser and is better in heavy crud.

Thanks for the info. A woman at American ski rental and the realskiers.com site said they were the same (but the B2 more forgiving???). So I just checked the dimensions for the XX and B2 and they are, respectively, 110/74/100 and the B2s 113/76/103. Maybe its the B2s I want - I'm looking for something that will ski well on the groomed/hard - what we have to deal with on the east - and good in the glades/crud and skier created piles of snow

For what you describe I would prefer the XX over the B2 because I think it plows through crud better and is more fun to play with on groomers.

I have been told the rpm 21 more closely equals the xx than the b2....as in stiffer and might be a bit better on hardpack/ that said....I hear good things about the b2 as well....hard to see you can go wrong with any of the 3 - you defin want to get the turntable style heal....if possible...good luck

I have a pair of last years XX's in 181 with Rossi freeride bindings on them. Excellent condition. If you're interested, send me a private message with an offer. I also have a pair of B2's in 176 but will keep them another year. The XX's ski much the same as the B2 and more versatile than the rpm 21.
