Which model of this year's 1100 are you comparing it with?
There are three:
1100 SR2 (orange topsheet with cap construction)
1100 Chip (black topsheet w/ cap and chip)
1100 SW (orange topsheet, sandwhich construction)
The SR2 and chip have the same dimensions, but the 1100SW is a very different beast. It has less sidecut (i.e. larger radius), is stiffer, and generally has more energy. It's basically the GS ski with a slightly softer flex and a smaller radius.
To eliminate this confusion, Head is changing the model numbers.
The '05 1100 SR2 is now the only 1100 in the '06 lineup.
1100SW = '06 1200
1100 Chip = '06 1400
The only thing that has been changed is the model numbers and addition of LiquidMetal. I've heard from one shop owner that's skied them that there's no apparant difference between this year's 1100SW and next year's 1200, so it remains to be seen if the LiquidMetal does much.
Hope that helps...
