Tahoe Skiing last week of March

Hi
I am an eastcoaster so I need lots of help on this one.

Is there any chance this year of the "Sierra Cement" ocurring at the end of March?
With the huge bases of snow there this year, could it still happen? I am planning to cancel my Banff trip and switch to Tahoe where all the snow is.
Should I go south lake or north?

Thanks so much for any help-I've got to call Continental fast!

I'm sure we'll have cement but powder is anybody's guess.

For sure we'll have plenty of base in 3 weeks.

you may end up being surprised.... I have skiied Banff the last 6 years,,,,,, and march and april usually get some big dumps

as somebody said in another Banff thread....."the winters that never start.... to seem never end. "

with a 59 inch base.... now.....one or two big dumps and viola... yer back in business

either way I hope you find some great skiing

Tahoe Skiing

Hi Mike,
Guess what? The airlines want to charge me 100.00 change fee plus
98.00 more to go to Tahoe! So I guess I will be going to Banff! I could change to Denver-but their bases are the same as LL & SV. So I will stick with Banff and let you know what happens.
Thanks for your help,
JO

hobojo: We're scheduled for a Banff trip in mid-April. I asked people here for their opinions on that time slot, and received answers similar to the ones above.

The critical mass says snowpack isn't a problem there in late season, partially due to the high latitude and the extreme winter cold, and partially due to late season dumps.
