Boots durability Question

i just got myself a pair of salomon Performa 4.0.
how long will this pair of boot last me for in terms of performance wise?

lets just assume i gain a level each year until level 5 which'll take me longer to gain up to level 6. say im level 2 or 3 now.
the boot fitter say these boots will last me for 10 years, will it? or will i out grow them?
im looking to be able to do tricks and go off-piste too.

any stories to tell? how long did you guys keep your boots?

Probably. I don't know that particular boot, though. Boots generally will last at least 10 years, with a few caveats: (i) the liner packs out, though it does that in a lot less than 10 years (assuming you actually ski a fair bit), and then stays pretty much the same, (ii) if you go for long strolls on concrete, you'll wear the soles down, but that's repairable, (iii) there are various obvious hazards that can end their life fairly quickly, like setting them on fire or letting them get really, really stinky and (iv) (most commonly) old boots become absolutely intolerable once you see some artfully-photographed, brilliantly advertised, and (therefore) much cooler new boots.

If your feet grow (much), you will outgrow them (assuming they fit correctly now). This has a lot more to do with your feet than it does with your boots.

I've had two pairs of boots since 1976.

It depends on how you ski, and how many days a season you ski. I usually get new boots after 200 days.
