New Poster with Head XRC 1100s

As a first time poster, I just wanted to thank those of you who unknowingly helped me with my recent ski selection. I had an opportunity to demo the Head XRC 1100 SW (163s) a few weeks ago at Alta. Although I really enjoyed them, I wasn't sure how that would translate to my usual east coast skiing conditions. Well after doing some research here, I had my choices narrowed down to the Head and the Fisher RX8. Since I did not have an opportunity to demo the Fishers, I purchased the Heads (from a shop that had both skis). After skiing them for 3 days on mostly hardpack conditions in the Poconos, they are so far the most fun skis I've ever been on. So thanks to all for your help. And to those of you who I noticed live in the Missoula ,MT area- hello. Missoula is a great town with a great local ski mountain. I went to high school there and I definately miss the area.

I was in similar situation as you, ski in the east and was considering the RX8 and Head 1100 (along with Elan S12 and S10). I also decided on the Head 1100 (however I was leaning toward the Chip), but, too late. I've tried several sources with no luck (even ebay). There are a couple of internet sites that sell them, but at a price that I'm not willing to pay --- $700 -$800 w/ bindings seems too much for the end of the year.

Hearing that you like them so much makes me regret that I didn't pull the trigger sooner. Good luck with your new skis.

werekong, ask Dawgcatching on here, he may be able to source a pair for you, or even get you some 1200SWs.

He was the first that I tried. Thanks for the info though.

I found a pair for sale in a shop over here. Cheapest I've seen in Europe, but it was about $750, and with a more basic binding to the one Dawg put on mine.

I wish I could find a pair at the price Dawg was selling for ---- over a $200 savings.
