Atomic B7? A good boot?

I have just purchased a pair of new Atomic B7 boots for $200 CDN. I am an intermediate skier. Just interested in hearing any comments on the B7.

Thanks

they are a decent boot. No frills or gimicks. no special features either. Do they fit and flex properly for YOU? usually people ask for advice BEFORE they make a purchase. Its a bit too late afterwards.

Anything you just purchased is, by virtue of that fact, really great.

Until you get bored with it and a new model with cooler colors comes out, when it becomes utterly and totally useless. This effect is much more pronounced if you are in the position of having someone else buy stuff for you.

I purchased because they retailed for $479 and I got them for $200. It's not too late to ask since I have 60 days in which to return them if I find something better.

mgpierog, I bought a pair of these last winter in Oz with a custom foot bed (in the wide fit - I spend to much time at the beach!). So far I have skied in them for about 3 weeks. I found them very comfortable, being able to ski them for 8 hours without any boot related soreness.. For my foot shape they are great. I found them to have good heel hold whilst giving my toes room to be comfortable. They may need minor adjustments to get the best fit - see a good boot fitter. That said, I think you will be happy with your purchase.

Atomics biotech series has the flatest ramp angle in the industry. A good thing. They are also a fairly upright boot, meaning they have less forward lean than many boots, also a good thing. They have a 3 degree outward rotation to the foot so they will ski different than a boot with no offset. If your foot shape matches the boot well you should be able to move down a size.

They are prewired with heater footbeds that only require a purchase of a battery. A nice feature for those with cold feet.

The biotech series is one of the best boot bargains on the market. I could have any boot I want from atomic, but I ski the B-10 because of the way it fits, and I love the way they ski. If the fit is good you will like them. Later, RicB.

Just purchased a B9 boot, because it fits much better than my previous Solomons (Performa 9, some years old). Yes, I can keep skiing for a long time now, without any sole problems... But they are much colder! When I took that "therm-ic" footbed out, it seemed to me, that Atomic is purposed on making people buy their batteries. Because these footbeds, made like a carpet, are accumulating water like thirsty camels... After skiing for a few hours, if your feet are perspiring (most people's do), you'll get wet and cold feet and run to the nearest Atomic dealer for the batteries. I just changed the footbeds, throwing out these therm-ics, and now it's much better. Took the ones from previous Solomons , although I vaguely remember a moment taking them from even older Nordicas and putting into then-new Solomons... There are things which you just keep for ages
