Solved the sliding tails problem: 1) Replaced custom footbed with commercial Superfeet. A running store clerk helped me size the new one based on my arch length--11--even though my foot is a 9.5. Cut it down to size. Foot no longer has painful pressure at rear of arch. 2) Added a 1/8" heel lift to shell. 3) Inserted original factory boot stiffeners and ankle stays to my Technica Rival X-9 HVL's. I thank Pierre for the last two ideas. Funny that four different bootfitters couldn't solve the problem, but a running store clerk and an online ski maniac could. Btw, edge carve is now automatic. Thanks for all the advice.
