If anyone can sell me the Transpack boot bag in red or gray, please e-mail me as soon as possible: bg@vtlink.net

Hey, Oboe. Now that I'm skiing again, I'm looking for one too, in any color, preferably the biggest one.
This is one of the best addition to my skiing garb in the past couple of years.

Oboe, I saw a red/grey one at the Sugarbush North base shop.

Hey, can someone post a picture or info link? I'm unfamiliar with this one. Thanks:

Transpack

We bought one on eBags.com

Here's the link:

http://www.ebags.com/transpack/xt1_b...m?modelid=8175

It's a great bag, fits boots, helmet and other crap. One word of caution, when it's full it does not fit in overhead compartments of planes, so you'll have to check it. I know some people are finicky about checking their boots so I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Skichick70 is right. The damn thing does not fit in the overhead. The remedy to the situation is to not pack your helmet in the middle compartment, thus enabling you to "squeeze" the boots together. It will fit if you do this. It is a damn righteous bag though!

Thanks for the heads up regarding the overhead compartment. All I planned on carry on was my boots and my laptop, I will have to figure how to get my boots on..maybe I will wear them.

Will you complete the look with that white goop on your nose and a camelback---say with some good ole southern whiskey ?

Don't wear goggles---I hear they pinch.

I am a single malt guy. ROFLMAO on the goggle comment, I will have to see what the airlines policy is on the goggle issue.

Good news! I found what may be the last TRV Transpack in Northern Vermont, and I'm picking it up tomorrow.

When flying to a ski destination, I stow my boots in a carry-on case, put my laptop (protected) on top of that, and any boot bag I use goes into the check-through luggage.

The TRV truly is righteous - and spaceous. My current bag has the boots and everthing (extra zip-t, spare goggles and gloves, balaclavas yada yada) in the same compartment. It's too small to include my helmet, which I wear from the car to the ski school locker room (such as it is). Transpact improvements over current bag: (a) When I get to the locker room, I need to take stuff out to remove the boots. When a herd of instructors is crowded in there, things tend to get misplaced. (b) Because of the limited amount of compartmentalization, it's difficult to run in during the fifteen minutes (if that) between lessons and find what I'm looking for. (c) Putting the boots in with the other stuff at the end of the day with melting ice doesn't thrill me. Yes, I try to dry the boots off, but I'd still rather have a separate compartment for them. (d) The Transpack has padded shoulder straps and can be carried like a back pack. My current bag slings over a should and is much less fun to carry. (e) My helmet fits into the Transpack with as much other stuff as I possible can need.

Stores here have been sold out, and when the stores called Transpack to order a bag for me, Transpack (which has a patent on this design) has limited inventory and has NONE of the TRV (the largest and slickest model). The reason: This thing is GREAT! People who have them swear by them, not at them. People who don't have them can see their advantages and want them.

If you can score yourself a Transpack, go for it!

I tried to get that color last week, with no luck. I ended up with a blue one from a ski shop up in Mass. Skiershop.com had e-mailed me Monday that they just got some in, but only in blue. Its a great bag by the way.

Got it! Navy and gray - looks great. It really is the cat's ass.

How does that compare to the "Cat's Meow" or the "Cat's Pajama's"?
Phil, the cat's ass is a matter of preference! I usually dont' like looking at my cat's ass, it's kinda foul and eveil looking. Now, the pajama's are another subject. My cat's PJ's are very cool, she has several pairs, some for lounging and some for when she's feeling naughty.:

OH, the transpack, who cares what color? It's the best thing for lugging gear around.

Preferences aside, cats don't always let you choose what to look at. When you're in bed and they decide to jump up and pay attention to your spouse's face, you get what's pointed your way. Can't much blame you for looking the other way, however.

The TRV has 3300 cu. in. of space, compartments galore, locking double zippers, and more than one route to access something at the top or bottom of the pack. It has padded shoulder straps for carrying as a back pack and a seriously smart and convenient storage area for the straps. It has a decent handle for carrying when the straps are not used. It has an external thingy where a helmet or other item may be attached, although there's plenty of room for a helmet inside. It has a separate compartment for each boot, and each compartment has vent grommets and a drain grommet.

The TRV is way cooler than the cat's meow or the cat's pajamas. Altogether, very kinky, cleverly designed, and supremely useful. And mine is colored navy and gray, whether you care about it or not.

"very kinky, cleverly designed, and supremely useful." Oboe, do you even bother to put your boots in it? Or are we asking the wrong party?

Evan, you got me here, because I don't know what you mean. The boot bag is supremely useful. I put my ski boots in it, and it is well compartmentalized for other skiing paraphernalia.

Anyone still looking for a slightly used Transpack? Black.
And the price would be?
thanks for the picture and link guys!
Hey Phil, do you like the sherry cask stuff or the island malts that taste like smoke, peat and iodine?
$25 and freight. Good as new, apparently half the price of new.

What model Transpack? There are a few, and there are differences.
Doesn't say a model, has a top flap pocket, side boot paockets with webbing on the out side of them, drawstring pull for the main compartment and shoulder straps and a chest strap.

Phil: When Finn and I do get you to come to Blue, I'll bring some Lagavulin. The one will help you change your mind about the other.
