Metron M:9 and bindings

I know Phil mounted his Salomon bindings on the XI with his custom jig, but has anyone else use different bindings on their Metron skis beside the Neox ones? The Neox bindings are the "recommended" bindings for the Metron, is it because they have something that makes that skis perform better than other bindings?

I guess my question is, can other bindings (ie,Marker) be mounted on them and will do fine? Would a shop mount them?

My M:9 arrived and I want to see if I can mount a pair of Marker M9.2 EC 14 on them. Can't really spend any more money for the Neox now

Thanks

Anyone?

Also what kind of bindings those demo'ed Metron have?

If you don't want to spring for the new Metrons try and find some Atomic bindings , holes will match and should be a whole lot cheaper. If you poke around this group probably has a few pair for sale.
Regarding demos I have been on the same skis with Atomic or Neox bindings , telling the difference would be tough for me .

the 9's come with a flat plate, you can put anything in them. That plate is black. I am sure with a pre drilled plate, a shop will NOT mount another make binding on them, they will cry "Void warrenty!!!".

When I was considering picking a pair from either the Metron or SX line a month ago, my Atomic rep offered me a choice of either the Neox or for a few dollars more, Marker bindings.

I don't know if the Marker bindings that Atomic ships are specially modified to their Metron and SX lines or if they are just standard Markers.

I ended up with SX's with Neox. I am very happy with them, even though I have exclusively been a Marker boy.

I called around and most shops were willing to mount them. As Phil mentioned, they said plates on the M:9 can be mounted with any bindings and shouldn't be any issues with the Marker.

I looked again and the bindings I have are not EC 14 but the 9.2 Titanium Speedpoint which are demo bindings. The good news is if I decide to sell these, they can be adjusted to any boot sizes

I'll pick them up tomorrow and head up the mountains on Friday. Hopefully they do a good job. Can't wait.

Thanks for all responses.
