Berkshire East would be a good place as well.
Wait times? Butternut, about 2 days, pack a lunch. Jiminy would be about 14 dollars a run---you can count on it being crowded.
Bousquet on a very crowded day---maybe 10 minutes and I believe it has more of the terrain you are looking for than the "Beast". Berkshire East may have good beginner stuff, but I never hear of folks going there for that, their reputation around Berkshire county is somewhat inflated, but does have some good upper level runs.
Can't say for Berkshire East in terms of wait but probably between Bousquet and Butternut. It is a slightly bigger hill and has more challenging terrain than either of the other two---but is IMHO harder to get to and the extra driving would be a consideration as it is close to an hour to decent lodging if thats an issue.
For a beginner/lower intermediate my choice based on your criteria and where you are coming from, I'd drive past Butternut---it gets nuts on weekend and holiday weeks and stop at Bousquet. If you don't like the terrain, go to Berkshire East.
There is also Catamount. Not technically in Berkshire county, I haven't been there in years---no idea what crowds are like.
Otis ridge is very lower level friendly as well . I'll bet no crowds there either.
That pretty much covers the Berkshires from North to South.
