I'm with choucas. My wife and I have done the Interconnect and used Exum of Utah guides a couple of times (some Exum Guides also work the Interconnect deal).
We found the Exum guides a better option for us. The cost is about the same, they tailor to trip to suit you, you spend a lot less time waiting around for a larger group to get up a ridge and then descend one by one. You'll also likely get some excellent coaching.
It's true that with Exum, you might take a lift up initially, but that would be it - you would stay in the backcountry. Interconnect takes you into the different resorts. So if your goal is to do some backcountry skiing, I'd recommend going with Exum. If you like the idea of sampling a bunch of ski areas in one day, then go the Interconnect route.
In either case, definitely go with fat skis, and plenty of liquids and snacks.
