Just got back from 2 weeks at lake Tahoe. We skied Sugar Bowl,Mt. Rose, Diamond Peak, Kirkwood, Squaw, Northstar (2), Homewood, Alpine Meadows(2) (did not ski Heavenly or Sierra). We skied 270,000 feet vertical and 197 runs. Summary: if you like to ski Groomed runs, this is the place. We were disappointed with the hills. Not as challenging as the Canadian Rockies. (we ski Fernie - when it has snow!!). Our first choice was Alpine Meadows. Second was Northstar. Very disappointed in Squaw (very little steep) and Kirkwood (slow chairs). Anyway it was an experience, but would not recommend for advanced skiers.
