While skiing through the tress at copper I failed to make a quick enough turn and lodged one ski under a fallen tree..Unfortunately my body went forward but my ski did not. As I fell over the tree my Knee cracked and I basically was left hanging head first into the snow. I screamed for my skiing partner to get up to me as I managed to pull myself back up mostly because of adrenaline. I was pretty sure I destroyed my knee..The sound it made was like the sound you get cracking your back or neck. After my buddy was able to get me out of my bindings I noticed something strange ... no pain! I was shocked ...then i bent my leg back towards by thigh to kneel and felt a sharp pain...and that was it...i was able to hike out of 4 foot snow with relatively low pain and was able to ski to the base...Today my knee is stiff but I am walking without a limp and very minor pain...no swelling though what so ever...it gets a bit stiff when i keep it bent for a while but other then that I seem fine...now I don't expect to hit the moutains again for 3 weeks but I'm pretty happy that my acl seems to still be there...anyone got any ideas?? Seems like i may have just cracked my knee like you crack you neck and just sprained it badly as well....anyways im counting my stars! Day 19 for me sucked! Can't wait to get back in a few for day 20!
