Atomic labels this as a "race" ski, but from some reviews I have read this ski may not be any stiffer or demanding than SX:9 or 10? Next season I might look into them if they aren't just high speed only, very stiff and demanding skis. The amount of ice early in the season in the NE was amazing and it seems like the SL:9 would be just the thing for carving short/medium turns on ice. I'm a 185 lb mid to upper intermediate and basically hooked on carving since my last few times out. Tomorrow I'll be demoing Volkl 5*'s; I understand this isn't a slalom ski and won't really be similar to the SL:9, but can anyone compare their relative stiffness or forgiveness? Shop at the local mountain does not have any SL:9 left unfortunately. Thanks !
