Free skis! m777

I am involved in a deal with a company...and those kind folks are sending me a very nice gift: A pair of Elan m777 skis, length = 184.

During the "getting to know you" phase of our deal, they obviously read my enthusiasm for skiing and, well, I'm giving their team steaks and they're giving me skis (don't know how they decided on those; wish they'd asked me what sort of skis would be most appropriate for me).

So...I don't think the m777's are for me. So, anyone want a pair...for free? Fusion bindings.

PM or email me if you're interested. (You don't mind paying shipping, do you?)

I'll take them. Check your PMs.

I'll swap them for my Salomon 3Vs - 176 with 912ti bindings, and currently set for 321mm boots

It would be a heck of a peace offering. Wouldn't work though, gonzo's love can't be bought.

Wow - thanks but I only have the one pair, guys!

Sent out an email to a bunch of skier folks last night...got no response...posted it here...and then got a zillion responses from the email folks and from here.

Didn't know these were in such demand.

And how THE HADES did gonzo's name come into play? JEEZ, people!

Hey - thanks to everyone who wrote. I hope I got back to everyone individually and thanked you for writing (Ok, I now see I have a few emails to respond to). I didn't realize so many would be so interested in these skis.

So you'll know, they're going to a new dad who sold his stuff last year when his wife became pregnant. He learned of these skis while up feeding his baby. He's trying to ease back into skiing a bit and needs to acquire new gear. Nice guy.

And no problem with the gonzo stuff. Hey, if he'd replied first..........

on principle I couldn't accept skis from the pussycat, even if they were free. they'd always have that "elitist" taint.

So, gonzo? Does this mean (oh, can it mean?) that you won't be going to ESA next year? 'Cause I'm planning to be there!

And you sure wouldn't want to have any elitist-Harvard-corporate-Republican taints anywhere near you, huh?!

If you don't go...we'll both be happy! And I'm relying on your firm, unwavering and unchanging commitment to your principles to avoid perceived elitism at all costs.

Yeah, I know that feeling, takes all the fun out of it though. Makes it hard to complain about the boss too!!

will this qualify ESA for Ivy League status?

Pussycat, you forget that I used to work with a whole fleet of Elitists. Won't bother me a bit. Heck we might even laugh at each other.

Well, if you can stand it...I guess I can, too.

Gives us both a whole year to prepare. I'll try to get some new sweatshirts to wear around the lodge; you know, some without Harvard plastered across the front. You think you could get, maybe, a some new headwear? That knitted thing with the ear-flaps and long tie-cords; well, that's a bit much for me!!!

P.S. - Maybe there's a Bear who is a therapist. If so, I'd be up for some preparatory therapy...

I'm sure gonzo would be willing to take you up the tram and show you the "safe" way down.
