First, THANKS to all who chimed in with advice on the myriad of questions we posed. Hope you get great weather the rest of the season!

FANTASTICO!!!!!! Yep, we were there during the constant snowfall with mild temps. most of the days. Arrived 12/27 midnight, got very nice rate at Aadvantage (Impala 16 days $468), straight to Crystal Inn downtown, and it started snowing up in the mountains that night. We had been frantic since everything was melting and no snow since early December, but the Gods were nice this time!

Breakfast at the Hotel was better than in previous years, and after 16 days I don't want to see another pancake, eggs, waffles, french toast, sausages, bacon, etc. Get the picture...?

At 7:15 AM we went to Canyon Sports 50 yards from Hotel, met with Todd, General Manager, and he gave us the best rates BY FAR for 3 rentals (I shopped around via e-mails). And tons of advice, smiles, encouraging words, kindness, etc. from ALL THE STAFF. Believe me, this was a nice start: everything perfecto! Oh, and they waxed halfway thru at no charge.

Day 1, Alta: perfect snow, perfect lack of crowds, and much improved lifts.

Days 2,3,8,10: Park City, good overall, but we encountered strong winds and heavy snowfalls. The runs down to town are nice.

Day 4: Snowbird, my previous fave in Utah. Still a great mountain, but we took the Tram to reach HOWLING wind, no visibility, Mineral Basin closed, etc. I'm not complaining, but it was my worst day at the Bird. Still found some good snow and short lines. I hope they do something so Mineral can be accessed without having to reach the top.

Days 5,7,9,15: SNOWBASIN, my new favorite along with The Canyons. Wow, Looong, Wiiide, Challenging runs, good grooming, tons of Powder, and fantastic Gondolas. And, those PLUSH Salles des Bains, identical to Sun Valley, just newer, less crowded, etc., etc. Kudos to the folks at SBasin!!!!! And to my son's Instructor, Dan, Gracias!

Day 6: Deer Valley, usual great grooming, but not challenging in the Intermediate domain. Except for Stein's Run and Tyccon, my 2 favorites there. Also, great ski school for our son, but $135.....

Days 11,12,13,14: The Canyons. Wow! I'd been here before, but this time REALLY enjoyed it. Long, pretty wide, challenging, diverse, etc. This, along with SBasin, got our votes for best.

Windy something Restaurant, Park City, excellent! The Asian one of this same group of restaurants was not oriental enough in the flavors. The Mexican in PCMR was Very Good.

Only 1.75 days of Sun, but we were forced to learn how to ski Powder, so that was a Big plus.

As always, Utah is on our list to alternate with Colorado. Next time we will go to Jackson Hole and Sun Valley, in good weather.
