atomic race 614?????????????

what is a decent price for the atomic race 614 bindings???? these will fit on my atomic sl 9 skis right? or should i buy the 412 bindings? and whats the neox thing?:

"Decent" sort of depends on whether you're the buyer or the seller, and whether the seller is on eBay.

On eBay, there's been a sort of run on the Atomic models before this season's. There've been some SX614 bindings (which are only cosmetically different from the Race 614) going for under $100. I guess I'd consider a "decent" eBay price to be in the $150 range. That's really better than "decent" in the grand scheme of things.

They will fit your SL9 skis right.

The 412 will also fit them right (they 614 and 412 mount exactly the same). The difference is the DIN range + the 614 has sturdier construction (more metal) + the 614 has five fore-aft positions you can slide it into, while the 412 has only four.

The Neox is Atomics new line. So far as I can tell, racers are mostly using the old models. The full-on race-stock binding -- the 1018 -- is a variant on the 412/614 line.

Whats your weight heigh and sking ability. That will determine how high your binding needs to go. You dont want a 614 if your not gonna need anything higher then 6

If they're the ones from about three years ago (black and red cosmetics), you'd have to *pay* me to ski on a pair again.

ok i am about 160 lbs 5'11'' and i am a pretty good skier i will be racing for my high school team... OK is the neox better? how much is the neox??? or should i just go with the old 614s or the sx614s....

all advice is really appretiated

Yea go with the 614s you should be fine with em. I have two pairs of Race 614s from last year and both work great, so you should be fine with em. I dont know about the older ones tho.

As of December, I killed my 412 bindings and got some new $100 ebay special 614 bindings. I mounted them myself on my atomic skis, took them to copper mountain, and they worked great. I don't know what happened to the 412's but something blew out so that I could crank the din setting up to the max, put it on, and kick them off like a slipper. Hopefully the 614's will last longer. They definitely feel more sturdy, and I saved 150 bucks on the ebay do-it-yourself route over the local ski shop.

If you're going to be racing, go with the 614's and avoid the neox. The fore - aft movement of the binding is pretty much a set it and forget it kind of a thing, and every set of Atomic bindings I've had I just leave them in the middle. Moving it around makes it *feel* different but I wouldn't say it improves anything but that's just my opinion.

At your weight, in the gates, you should probably go with a 7 or 8 DIN setting.

I believe the plate on your ski will1 not accept a neox binding and is only predrilled for the Race or Xentrix (CR) series binding. I woul definitly go with a Race 6.14.

I recommend the same thing to you. I have SL11's with 614's and i weight less then you (150)(5'7") and I have em set on 8 so you should be fine with 8.

Why is it that people continue to recommend binding adjustments to people without even knowing their boot sole length, which is a very large factor in where to set the DIN?

Ask Andy has some Atomic 614 bindings on EBay for $90. A great deal. Tell him Doug sent you! Email me if you need help finding them.

I am also Looking for a pair of Atomic 614s or 1018s New/Old Stock. I picked a new/Old pair of LT11s and I would like to pick up a pair of bindings without taking a pair off my other skis. Anyone selling an un-used pair of Atomic Race 614 or 1018s? The Atomic LT11s only take the Race Series bindings, no Neox.

I would like to know what year they are from because of the Atomic double secret recall on the 614s (with heal cup and rear gear). I would also be interested in a pair Race 1018s, I usually run my DIN at 12.5 to 13.0 I look forward to hearing from you. I can provide you with my email for photos if you like, let me know.

TI will look this afternoon.  Also the recall was on Device , 3.10 and 4.12's  Never on 6.14's!
