Hi guys, gals, Ladies and Gentlemen, in short...
Hi Bears
My skiing season has come to an end after the past week.
The week hasn't gone too well, it was too cold and my children both came down with flu.
Anyway, tomorrow (jan 31st) I'll enter the hospital for the long dodged (three and a half years) long waited and now no longer delayable heart surgery.
I had hoped to wait a bit longer, but apparently drugs aren't effective anymore, and this would mean to cut down life even more than I have already done, or face permanent consequences (my doc words) so, since I want to be able to have an active life for a while longer (possibly until I reach age 100, ehe) off to the surgeon I go.
So I'll be offline-in every sense-for a couple of months...
It's been very nice to meet all of you, people of the ski tribe.
I'll be back (use Ahnold accent here).
Hasta la vista companeros.
Please make a couple of turns, be it powder, ice or wathever, for me too!

I don't know what surgery you are going in for, but I had open heart in early August and have been back to 100% or better since December. It seems like forever to recover, but it's worth it. Good luck.

Best of luck, my (geographical) distant friend! And, with the experiences of others to bolster this comment, you will come back stronger than ever if you follow the recovery through!

Please let us all know from time-to-time how you are doing.
