FYI: Copeland's mounts bindings free

Well, they mount them free if you buy your bindings from them. I know stores will frequently mount bindings for free if you buy bindings and skis at the same time, but this is the first I've heard of a place that will do the mounting for free when you buy only bindings, not skis.

Incidentally, if anyone needs a binding like this, I picked up some Salomon S810 Ti Axe bindings at a Copeland's store yesterday, including wide brakes, for $93. This seems to be around $30-40 less than they usually go for, and I don't need to find wide brakes (another $20 saved). Add in the cost savings of free mounting (~ $20) and this is looking like a pretty good deal.

I was hunting for Look/Rossi pivots, but since the object was to locate good bindings for my fiance's Phat Luvs, a decent mid-line Salomon will work fine (DIN to 10; she's at 6 or 6.5, so no problem there).

Copeland's currently has a 30% off on bindings (and on a bunch of misc ski stuff), but most of them are at full MSRP, it's not much of a sale.

Update: apparently whether Copeland's will mount bindings for free depends on who you talk to there. Both me & my fiance spoke to different people who each assured us that binding purchase came with free mounting; when we dropped off her skis to get them mounted they said it was only free if skis were also purchased. After telling them that 2 separate employees had told us otherwise, they did the mount for free.

Anyway, they did a good job; bindings appear centered on the skis, boot is positioned exactly over the boot centerline mark on the ski, and they used some sort of glue when screwing the bindings in (a bit is showing around the Salomon axe plates).
