ANONYMOUS POLL

I'm being perfectly serious here. It's interesting for me to gauge just how dedicated "dedicated" means on the Forum. So, if you had to give up either sex or skiing, which one would you? Could any question be more diabolical? For the general population, we know what the answer would be. But not skiing would really bite for a "dedicated skier." Makes me think of the thread: http://forums.epicski.com/showthread...&highlight=sex Personally, I'd give up skiing.

Sophie's Choice. Not very pleasant. Go wonder about something else.

These polls are really getting annoying.

If I choose surfing over skiing.
And sex over surfing.
Then you know where I stand.

I guess it depends on where and when. You can ski with a friend or by yourself in public without getting funny looks.

What's the old saying? Sex is like oxygen, it's no big deal unless your not getting any.

Good point

I should have known better posting that.

Nothing personal but I wouldn't mind them if you didn't come up with one every time you were bored and then bump them when people aren't taking the poll fast enough for you.

Confusing: The title is " What's better: sex or skiing?" The poll question is "What would you rather give up: Sex or Skiing?" Opposite questions. Besides, you can ski all day. Fortunately, activities are not mutually exclusive. No vote here because the poll is FLAWED.

Scalce, please don't apologize for being annoyed with me. I get annoyed with me all the time! As long as you don't mind me getting annoyed with you for getting annoyed by me. I do try to avoid bumping, and it's understandable that it would grate on you and others.

But these polls questions really do interest me. I posted the two I began today during what appeared to be a very slow period on the forum. Maybe I should have just done one -- newbie enthusiasm got the better of me, I;m afraid. I've learned a lot through them about a certain segment of skiers' values, their monetary devotion to skiing, the magazines they read, the places they ski, the places they want to ski, their views on alpine competition, etc. And humbly, I would also suggest that some polls give other forum members a certain, if imperfect glimpse of the Epic community. I say this with humility because I'm a newbie in more ways than one.

Finally, I'd say that I am an avid poll-taker. I'm delighted to take any polls offered in good faith.

Sex is rapidly catching up with skiing. It must be night-time...

I wouldl love to know whether there are any demographic secondary implications - e/g/ wome vs. men? Older vs/. younger?

Sure would be! I have my suspicions.

I'm with Oboe, it's Sophie's Choice. But I'd give up skiing.

You can have sex all year round without travelling.
It's never too cold to have sex.
It's never too wet (rainy) to have sex.
You don't need at least 6 inches (of snow) to have sex.
No extra gear is needed (debatable here for those single folk, and while I don't need poles to ski, one pole may be necessary at times for sex).
You don't need a Pass.

I guess I'm not that dedicated!:

I would choose skiing, and then get some on the side. Later I'd hope skiing doesn't find out and probably feel guilty.

It would be all about skiing for me. I've had way more epic sex days vs. epic ski days in my life and it is time to even thing out a bit. BTW I'm a 35 yr old male who hassbeen married for 10 years.

This one is easy. I'm married, therefore, have already had to make the choice. I'll be skiing this weekend!

Is the poll flawed?
Maybe: sex with a partner only? Masturbation included or excluded?

Giving up "skiing" you look like a REAL GUY
Giving up "sex" you look somewhat suspicious
I guess a lot of posts won´t be sincere.
The anonymous poll itself could be.

I personally wish as many as possible participate.
With some interesting results I might produce an interesting article.
Thanks in advance

Could we get around this by having sex while skiing?

How does this show ones dedicationb to the sport? I find it odd you are questioning other peoples dedication. Take myself for example, if I am lucky I get about 15-20 days on snow (used to get 80-100 when I lived in Maine), but I work in the industry at a shop with lots of soul and passion, our goal is to put skiers on the best gear for them, everybody that works here teachs skiing or snowboarding and is out to help our customer have the best time possible. So who is to say a guy who becomes a monk and skis 100 straight days is more or less dedicated to the sport. I see all the polls you keep posting and can't help but wonder if maybe you are overanalizing things just a bit, my take on it is this, get out and ski more and the answers to your questions will present themselves.

this is getting out of hand. time to shut it down
