R-10 w/CR12 bindings how to mount?

I ordered a set of 170 R-10 w/CR12 bindings from SierraTrading. The bindings have arrived the skis are yet to follow - that sucks : but - $319 - not too sucky

My question is can I mount them myself (as it seems that these skis have been Pre-drilled) and later take them to a shop to be adjusted? Or should I take the bag of parts and take them with me to the slope ski shop.

I have mounted and adjusted skis in the past but these new skis with the mounting plates built in is new to me.

Any advice?

Me Male/165/5-9/Good Skier/Tryin shaped skis for the first time.

Just take them to a shop save yourself the headache. for a few bucks they get mounted ajusted and you know if they didn't do it right you have someone else to blame.

I just mounted my R:11s today. First pair of skis/bindings I've ever mounted. I did it in 20 minutes on my living room floor. I'll grab a link for you and post it here. Another member gave me some very brief, but effective directions on how to do it. It's a piece of cake. Just mount them up yourself and have a shop test them.

Take a look at post #6 in this thread... http://forums.epicski.com/showthread.php?t=23274

Read the posts on "Mounting Bindings" in this forum. This all is described. This is not a hard job at all.

Mounting Atomic bindings is very very easy!

email me at Atomicman52@comcast.net, if you need help.

Since there is no drilling (the plates are pre-drilled) it is very simple, just a couple of tricks you need to know.

If you need help, I need to know your boot sole length in mm. The most difficult part is adjusting the toe height properly. You must leave .5mm gap under your toe.

All,

Thanks very much. I have been out of town until today so I have not had the time to answer and I think that i will do the job myself and let you know how they turn out.

PS I will be trying them out at PowderMountain in Utah this week end.

Wish me Luck!!
