TERPski, the (mildly) abrasive pads you're looking for are shown here:http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx...7&FamilyID=256
The grey pads and the white pads are identical to those sold by Tognar here:http://www.tognar.com/wax_tools_hot_...t ml#SWX-T151
Woodcraft has a store in Springfield and there is a related shop near Rockville Pike:http://www.woodcraft.com/stores/stor...d=101&nav=home
Unfortunately, I cleaned out Springfield's stock of white & gray pads before Physicsman posted the link to Online Industrial Supply in the polishing goggle lens thread:http://www.onlineindustrialsupply.com/handpads.html
Which is the cheapest I've seen them anywhere.
If you're looking to get something quick locally, call the Rockville shop, then you might try Piedmont Plastics or Reed Plastics or whatever they're called nowadays. Woodcraft also has furniture polish-grade felt pads, useful for fluoro.
Any XC shop, including HTO and Ski Center, should have cork for nordic-style polishing.
Last, but possibly not least, have you looked at the hairbrushes at RiteAid/CVS? Some of the ones marketed to minorities have really useful bristles on them.
