[quote=Mr Hazmat]Mike 2002, you need not worry. I.....have taken numerous trips (by bus) and otherwise to Wintergreen without a problem.
I, too, have successfully ridden on charter buses to the mountains for skiing. I never encountered a problem until MLK day this year. For all I know, all those other times, too, the driver didn't have the proper equipment or know how to put on the chains. This wasn't a problem until we needed to chain up. Then, we discovered the driver didn't know how to put on or take off chains (she wrapped a chain around the axle). The bus didn't have a CB radio, and we were in a no cell coverage zone. We couldn't call for help. After an hour or so, we finally flagged down a tow truck driver who extracted the chain for us. The bus didn't have flares, aforementioned radio, or a first aid kit. Until this happened, I never thought to ask the bus company for details about their drivers' abilities to handle winter driving conditions and to use their equipment. I thought, because the company had a good reputation, they must know what they're doing.
Asking for details can't hurt.
