Zorro's new skis are right here (in the middle, surrounded by vastly superior skis that are MINE )

check out the BLING BLING "gold" topskin. I think there's a Union Jack somewhere under the binders.

Well, at least Uma hasn't cocked her leg on them yet.

You going to keep the Big Stix now that you have those lovely Elans?

those Big Stix 7.6 haven't even seen snow yet.

the 8.6 are the ones that are in jeopardy now.

I'm starting to think that I may just sell all my Fischers for Elans. M777 Fusion, perhaps? I really like the M666, more than any ski I've ever been on. Feels like it was designed for my style of skiing.

yeah but I have the one ski facing the wall for a reason. do you think the binders will still function if Uma has chewed them nearly off the ski?
OK, a BIG
THANK YOU

to DAWGCATCHER for getting me the skis at a great price, and getting them to Montana for me!

Have fun on those m666's. I love 'em to death.
So Gonz, what attracted you to the 666 besides the number?

reviews in Peter Keelty's site and SKIER magazine, as well as Greg's (HeluvaSkier) continual rooting for Elan's fine race skis.

that number was just fate, ya know.

fox you need a gold Elvis style jumpsuit to go with those skis. Now what did I do with my sunglasses?

No, I wasn't in that bond movie.

Fox Hat cool set up. Looks just like mine but I suspect yours are the 1100's. Great ski bud, I even skied mine off the Tram at Jackson through the crud down the Hoback's. They like a forward stance and drive them through the turn they can take it. The Free Flex binding are nice and I have never pre-release but then again I have never released on these ski (hmmmmm). Check out the pressure setting on the free flex just under the boot. I have mine set all the way to the plus side. Enjoy, hope to ski you soon.

DB, you've let yourself go a bit...

Does anyone know if the M666 Fusion is damper than the previous model - M662?

I have the M662 and bought them specifically because everyone said that they have a nice rebound. Indeed they do, but this year's reviews for the M666 have indicated that the M666 with Fusion is a damper (and maybe smoother) ski. Me like smooth. Me no like damp.

Tom, it's not as lively as a slalom racer, but it's much more lively than, say, a Bandit B2... or at least I think so.

That's like saying a beer tastes better than a bottle of Bud you've left out in your garage for a couple summers.

Ryan,

I was on the B-3's on truly powder days when we were in Jackson. As for the B2 the Xrc is race inspired. It wants to lay over and leave tracks. It is fully metal wrapped and much stiffer. It is heavier that the B2's but has more energy it is probably the metal.

Gonzo,

Lift ain't so bad in the flat lands these days. At least we have plenty of new snow. As for out west god willin' and the creek don't rise I'll be at the Gathering. Yep, did not think I would make it this year but it looks good. One trip to Tahoe planned also. Another weekend in LCC. However, that will be a quick trip and its not really planned yet. That the great thing about Utah.

Gonzo, I'm glad you like the elans. I keep seeing more and more people skiing on their skis now. They seem to ski well for just about everyone, as the company seems to have skis with huge sweet spots and a fairly powerful feel when pushed. Since i contributed to your ski choice does this make me famous? Can i collect royalties?
Have fun on those!

Hey, those XRC's look familiar! Just like the pair I was going to ski this year, until some dude from the UK called up and wanted them (for ESA nonetheless!) Have fun on those sticks-trying to find the speed limit should be fun!

Greg - yeah, the royalties are that you can cite me as your protege.

Scott, sorry I didn't get the 666s from you. You were busy as hades when I called and the gal I spoke to wasn't understanding that we had pre-arranged a sale. She was frantic. I was worried you'd sell out of the 176cms so I hit eBay and scored a pair for $5 difference.

but now I'm thinking about the M777... do you have them? Fusion? Non- ?
You probably saw those 662s he has; would that be a reasonable Havoc replacement?

I dunno. I need to move the binders forward and create a delta with shims before I decide to pitch the Havocs.

I'm thinking of ditching the BigStix 8.6 because they're such huge turners and they're not much good on my local hills.

and I still have to decide between the BigStix 7.6 and the Elan M666, but I'm pretty danged sure the Elans will stay.

The BigStix 7.6 might replace the Havocs though -- MIGHT.

Sorry, no 777's in stock. I will check on Monday when I am meeting with the Elan guys in Vegas...

If you are interested, I have a pair of Big Stix 8.6's in stock (current model-year) for $400 in 180cm. I am trying to move some skis-the current lack of snow is killing us here in the PNW...so there hasn't been a need for fatties anytime this season (so far).

Load a truck up and drive to Utah. Hang out at the Parking lot at Brighton. Here your pitch. " Pssssssst Hay Kid yeah yous guys, Com ere wanta buy some hot skis? still in wrappa great skis. See i was jus driven down da road an they sorta you knowsfell out dis truck."
Remember to be effective dark sunglasses, chew on a tooth pick wear a black leather jacket and gold chain with Italian good luck charm. Pinky ring is also a nice touch.
Can ya tell I grow up in New Jersey?
